The Municipal Government Program presents a unique learning opportunity for Nunavut Bylaw Officers.   This is a new stream of courses that have been developed throughout 2013-2015.  This course offers a theory basis for the roles and responsibilities of Nunvut's municipal Peace Officers, Municipal Enforcement Offciers and Bylaw Officers.  Specifically this course will focus on the following topics:

  1. Appointments, Duties and Authority
  2. Standards, Acts and Territorial Statutes
  3. Communication
  4. Court Procedures (Justice System)
  5. Professionalism, Ethics and Values

Participants should already be employed as a Peace Officer, or Municipal Enforcement Officer/Bylaw Officer.  Applicants who have been hired by their hamlet and will carry out these duties as a secondary responsibility will also be considered.
